Shoot low, not high!

When shooting in a soccer match, remember: shoot low!

A study found that the percentage of the goals that are scored high are as followed:

  • Top Left: 8 percent
  • Top Center: 4 percent
  • Top Right: 5 percent

Yikes. The possibility isn’t high.

  • Middle Left: 7 percent
  • Middle Center: 8 percent
  • Middle Right: 6 percent

Although the goals scored in the middle are slightly higher than the goals scored high, the percentage still isn’t much.

  • Bottom Left: 22 percent
  • Bottom Center: 21 percent
  • Bottom Right: 19 percent

And the rest is swallowed by the low-scored goals. Look at these stats – 62% of all the goals scored are in the low area! This makes sense because is it easier for the goalkeepers to jump high to catch the ball than to crouch low to scoop the ball up.

Also, 67 percent of goals were scored in the corners, and 33 percent down the middle. If you combine the two statistics and shoot low into the corner, you should have a much greater success rate in scoring goals.
