Their was a discovery last week of the remains of 215 children from a residential school – students of Canada’s largest residential school near Kamloops, BC – has given rise to nationwide outrage and calls for further searches of unnoticed graves.
What do we know about the preliminary findings?
Last week, Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc announced that the graves of 215 children had been found near the city of Kamloops in southern British Columbia.
All of the children had been students at the Kamloops Residential School – the largest school in Canada’s residential school system.
The remains had been found days before with the help of ground-penetrating radar technology, Chief Casimir said.
