Autism is a lifelong, mental disorder typically appearing before the age of three years. A person who has autism thinks differently than normal people will. They also find things like bright lights or loud noises stressful or uncomfortable, get anxious or upset about unfamiliar situations and social events or take longer to understand information. People who have autism also might do or think the same things over and over.
